Vaishnavites.. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage by the tourist from centers of India and worldwide , having
recorded millions of visits.

Badrinath temple – Situated in Ganges (Uttrakhand)
It
is situated in the Kumaun Himalayas along a headstream of the Ganges (Ganga )
holy River or Astha of hindus, at an elevation of about Aprox 10,000 feet . It is located along the twin mountain ranges which
is called of Nar and Narayan on the left bank of Alakananda

The Badrinath temple - History
Badrinath temple was re-established as a major pilgrimage or holy place by Adi Shankara in the 8th century. In earlier days, when you want to go this holy pilgrims used to walk hundreds of miles to visit Badrinath temple of shri visnu .
The temple has been repeatedly destroyed by
earthquakes and avalanches. The town consisted only of the 20-odd huts used by
the temple's staff, but the site drew thousands each year and up to 50,000 on
its duodecennial festivals. In
recent years the popularity of this
festivals has increased still more, with an estimated millions of pilgrims visiting
during the last season.
Badrinath is one of the most popular and religious holy town of the Hindus and others located at Chamoli district of Uttarakhand in India.
The Badrinath temple of god shri visnu is the main attraction in the
town. According to legend Shankar open a black stone image of Lord Badrinarayan
made of Saligram stone in the Alaknanda River in which is located in Chamoli district. He
originally preserved it in a cave near the kund called the Tapt Kund hot
springs. The temple is approximately 15m tall with a small cupola on top, and
it is covered with a gold gilt roof.The facade is built of stone, with arched
windows. A broad stairway leads up to a tall arched gateway, which is the main
entrance of the temple.
LEGEND – BADRINATH TEMPLE
According to the Bhagavata Purana, "There in Badrikashram, the supreme
being of god shri Vishnu, in his incarnation as the
sages which are called Nara and Narayana, had been undergoing great
penance since time long-established for the welfare and prosperity of all living human Beings.
The Badrinath area is referred to as Badari
Nath or also caleed Badarikaashram in
Hindu religion . It is a place sacred to shri hari Vishnu, particularly in Vishnu's
dual form of Nara-Narayana. Thus, in the Mahabharata, Krishna, addressing Arjuna about this story.
There is one more story related to this One legend has it that when the goddess nadi called Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity on the request of king Bhagiratha, the earth was unable to survive the force of her descent. Therefore, the mighty holy river Ganga was split into two holy parts, with Alaknanda one of them.
The mountains around Badrinath temple are mentioned in the Granth called Mahabharata, when the Pandavas(All five brother with
wife) were said to have expired one by one due to there sine(Killed There
Relative), when ascending the slopes of a peak in western Garhwal called
Swargarohini (Like Heaven'). The Pandavas all brother passed through Badrinath and the town which is
caleed Mana, 4 km north of
Badrinath, on their way to Svarga (heaven).
